You could look further afield, but you have at the bottom of your garden, one of Ireland's best known salmon and sea-trout lakes!
Local expert guides, instructors and ghillies are on hand to help you enjoy your stay and can be arranged easily once there, or in advance.
Whilst there are a dozen golf courses within 20 or 30 mins drive don't miss out on the magnificent Waterville Links and also the new course - just a few hundred meters away; Skellig Bay Golf Club which has incredible scenery and immaculate fast running greens.
Part of the idylic Ring of Kerry, you'll be awestruck by the natural scenery. Nestled between mountains, lakes, and the sea - which incidentally is a lot warmer than you'd expect, thanks to a particularly warm blast from the gulf stream.
By the way, we're nowhere near Galway despite what other websites say!
